April 4, 2009

Southern California

Sunny, breezy, 75 degrees

I love tea. Just ask anyone who knows me. In fact, I had a Victorian tea room for 2 years. One day I plan to reopen it. I still have so many calls as it was the only one in our area. Part of my time at the tea room was to teach on health and Anti-Oxidants.

Here is the Wikipedia Definition of Tea -

Tea refers to the agricultural products of the leaves, leaf buds, and internodes of the Camellia sinensis plant, prepared and cured by various methods. “Tea” also refers to the aromatic beverage prepared from the cured leaves by combination with hot or boiling water[1], and is the colloquial name for the Camellia sinensis plant itself.

After water, tea is the most widely-consumed beverage in the world.[2] It has a cooling, slightly bitter, astringent flavour.[3]

The four types of tea most commonly found on the market are black tea, oolong tea, green tea and white tea,[4] all of which can be made from the same bushes, processed differently, and in the case of fine white tea grown differently. Pu-erh tea, a double-fermented black tea, is also often classified as amongst the most popular types of tea.[5]

The term “herbal tea” usually refers to an infusion or tisane of fruit or herbs that contains no Camellia sinensis.[6] The term “red tea” either refers to an infusion made from the South African rooibos plant, also containing no Camellia sinensis, or, in Chinese, Korean, Japanese and other East Asian languages, refers to black tea.

There are many resources on Tea and their benefits, but the one thing that is common in all types of tea, be it black, green, or white is they all have many benefits. Drinking tea, hot or cold, helps your eyes, feet, kidneys, liver, heart, blood sugar even your plants. You can purchase tea online from many companies and even get some good tea at Trader Joes, and Cost Plus. My favorite is Lavender Mint. You can even make your own by harvesting Lavender and other herbs that you grow. Another option is to visit my website at Arbonne Int. http://tinyurl.com/bqjbs5 From there you can visit the figure 8 section and find the Detox Tea. This tea has a peppermint base and aids in cleaning your kidneys and liver. The cost is $14.00. You can drink it hot or cold. Stay tuned in for future recipes with tea and other tips for health benefits from drinking tea.

Here’s to your health.
